Skolen har tatt sitt navn etter det historiske Bruchion-distriktet i Alexandria. I dette området møttes og bodde de vitenskapsmenn, lærde og lærere mens de studerte ved de to enestående bibliotekene i antikkens Alexandria.Bruchion var et sted hvor tradisjoner fra mange folkeslag møttes og smeltet sammen -- grekere og afrikanere, yogier og druider, kunstnere, historikere, matematikere -- i en gjestfri og opplyst atmosfære man ikke ville finne maken til igjen i den vestlige verden før den florentinske renessansen.

About the name:

We call the school Bruchion after the district where scholars and teachers from the ancient world gathered and lived while they studied at the two great libraries of Alexandria.It was a place where the traditions of many peoples met and mingled -- Greeks and Africans, yogis and druids, artists, historians, mathematicians -- in an atmosphere of hospitality and enlightenment that would not occur again until the Florentine Renaissance.
